More reports this week of poor fitting of water meters by the water companies. Really makes you wonder about the working practices of these firms.
George and Deborah McManus of Beverley in East Yorkshire had a water meter fitted in the hope of saving some money on their water bills. One year down the line Yorkshire Water suddenly wanted an extra £1000 in charges and when the couple complained Yorkshire Water said they must have a leak.
Eventually the water company admitted that the meter had been fitted in the wrong place and that the couple had been charged for the cost of several other houses water usage as well!
